Michael The Homeschool Kid

Many parents opt for homeschooling for various reasons, and tailoring the educational experience to suit an individual's learning style can be highly beneficial. Hence, the reason I created this site. I utilize pre-packaged homeschooling curriculum, online courses, textbooks, educational software, and other resources that cater to Michael's academic level and learning style.

I’ve received a lot of smoke about choosing to homeschool. I understand that it is essential to provide our Children with socialization opportunities. Participation in community activities, sports, clubs, or homeschooling co-ops offers opportunities for him to interact with peers. For example, the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA both offer affordable memberships and those organizations provide those opportunities for Michael.

THE FOUNDER

Orphaned at the tender age of 12 and motherhood by 15, Mary Jane’s journey was one of resilience amidst adversity. Growing up in the unforgiving streets of Detroit, poverty became her unwelcome companion, and she found herself navigating the tumultuous waters of the foster care system until she turned 18. Yet, amidst the chaos and hardship, determined to rewrite the script for her own children.

Raised in an environment where poverty was settled for and dreams seemed out of reach, Mary Jane refused to accept defeat she embraced her role as a parent, determined to arm her children with the tools and resources necessary to thrive in the unforgiving streets of the ghetto.

But Mary Jane knew that traditional schooling alone wouldn’t suffice in preparing her children for the harsh realities they faced. With a heart brimming with love and protection for her children and a mind fueled by determination, she took it upon herself to carve a new path. Thus, the School of Hard Knocks Resource Site was born—She still had/have so much to learn on her own.

Through her platform, Mary Jane offers invaluable insights and guidance, recognizing that breaking free from the shackles of generational poverty requires a different approach. She understands the power of knowledge, the importance of resilience, and the beauty of hope. With unwavering dedication, Mary Jane’s resource site serves as a lifeline for those seeking to rise above their circumstances and create a brighter tomorrow
